Structured Daily Routine in the Laboratory

The laboratory team follows a systematic routine to ensure efficiency, safety, and timely service for all patients and clinicians.

  1. Short Prayer: A brief moment of reflection or prayer to start the day positively (non-activity).
  2. Handover: Exchange of updates and pending tasks between outgoing and incoming shifts.
  3. Bench Cleaning: Sanitizing all work surfaces to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination.
  4. Materials & Reagents Arrangement: Organizing all tools, chemicals, and reagents needed for testing.
  5. Equipment Control: Checking, calibrating, and ensuring all machines are functional and ready.
  6. Appointment Review: Verifying scheduled client visits using the Open Clinic system.
  7. Sample Processing (Handover): Handling and analyzing any samples left from the previous shift.
  8. Phlebotomy & Sample Collection: Collecting blood and other biological samples from patients.
  9. Test Request Verification: Reviewing and confirming tests requested in Open Clinic for each patient.
  10. Lab Code Registration: Assigning unique lab codes to each sample for accurate tracking.
  11. Sample Testing: Conducting laboratory analyses based on the requested tests.
  12. Result Reporting: Reviewing and submitting test results to Open Clinic.
  13. Reception Notification: Calling the front desk to inform clients that results are ready.

This workflow ensures smooth operations, minimizes errors, and maintains high standards of care in laboratory diagnostics.
